KILJ: Goodwill coming to Mount Pleasant

Goodwill of the Heartland's 19th Store Opens This Summer in Mount Pleasant

Goodwill of the Heartland recently sat down with KILJ Radio in Mount Pleasant to discuss the new store opening there this summer.

"We bring jobs," Marketing Director Brent Watkins told the station. "We're looking to hire between 15 and 17 full- and part-time team members."

Two open interview events are slated at the store location, 700 N. Grand Ave., on Tuesday, June 20, and Saturday, June 24. Jobs available at the Mount Pleasant location will be posted to our online job board as they become available and, to save time, we encourage those interested to fill out an online application ahead of the in-person events. Team members will be  at the event to assist with the application process. Those who have already completed the form will move directly into interviews. Open interviews will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.

While this thrift store location will not immediately offer on-site assistance for job seekers, the organization is developing a virtual career center that allows people to connect with career specialists for assessment, guidance and training regardless of geography. Connections with community service agencies are being forged to provide local residents in need with Goodwill shopping vouchers.
