2022 DSP of the Year Award Ceremony planned for April 13

Teresa Mueller named Iowa DSP of the Year

Goodwill of the Heartland is pleased to announce Teresa Mueller, a Supported Community Living Associate, was named Iowa DSP of the Year by the American Network of Community Options and Resources (ANCOR).

The organization is a national nonprofit trade association that represents more than a half-million professionals who collectively serve more than a million people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Each year, as part of the organization's annual conference, direct support professionals are recognized for outstanding achievement in relationship building, leadership, innovation and person-focused care.

Teresa, who has been with Goodwill for nearly seven years, was selected from more than 300 nominees. She was nominated by Monikka Fuller, lead SCL, and Pat Airy, CEO.

ANCOR plans to live-stream the awards presentations at 1:30 p.m. CST on Wednesday, April 13. The public is invited to join the event via Facebook Live. In lieu of attending the awards ceremony in person, Teresa will use those resources for ANCOR membership dues and additional professional training.

In nominating Teresa for this award, Monikka and Pat wrote, in part, Teresa "is an extraordinary example of dedication and hard-work. She demonstrates this to participants with her structured provision of service, committed integrity to always do what is right and teach what is right, and devoted commitment to the individuals we serve. Our agency is extremely fortunate to have Teresa as part of our team."

We couldn't agree more! Congratulations, Teresa, and thank you for all you do for those who rely on Goodwill of the Heartland!
