New career center offers personalized workforce support, training, and professional development to empower local job seekers and businesses
JULY 30, 2025 – Goodwill of the Heartland is excited to announce the grand opening celebration of its newest Helms Career Center, located inside the Mount Pleasant Goodwill Store at 700 N. Grand Ave. The event will take place on Friday, August 8, from noon to 4 p.m. The celebration marks the launch of the 10th Helms Career Center aimed at supporting the local workforce with comprehensive career services.
The new Helms Career Center was established in response to requests from members of the Mount Pleasant community for a dedicated resource to assist job seekers and local business owners alike. Amy Winslow, Career Services & Development Manager at Goodwill of the Heartland, shares why this location is so important:

The center offers a broad range of services including interview preparation, resume assistance, career planning, job search assistance, professional certification programs, digital skills assessment and training. Goodwill career centers cater to people from all walks of life — from those just starting out, to individuals seeking career advancement, and those needing to reskill for new opportunities.
