Google.org and Goodwill partner to provide no-cost access to Google AI Essentials, helping people stay competitive in a tech-driven job market

SEPTEMBER 17, 2025 – Goodwill of the Heartland is proud to offer free access to the new Google AI Essentials training course, made possible through generous support from Google.org. This opportunity is open to anyone in the community interested in learning how to use artificial intelligence (AI) tools effectively in their everyday work. As AI continues to reshape the way we work, employers increasingly value digital literacy and the ability to navigate AI-powered tools. This training helps meet that demand by equipping participants with practical, job-ready skills. The online course takes about six hours to complete and is packed with interactive lessons, videos and real-world examples. Upon completion, learners receive a certificate from Google that can be shared with employers and added to resumes or online profiles. “This support from Google.org reflects a shared commitment to fostering workplace readiness and opportunity,” said Carmen Heck, Vice President of Mission Services at Goodwill of the Heartland. “Together, we are supporting people as they adapt, grow and thrive in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.” To help local learners get started, Goodwill is inviting people to visit any of its Helms Career Centers, where team members are available to assist with course registration and provide additional resources. A full list of locations and hours is available on our website. KEY COURSE HIGHLIGHTS
