The Quad Cities Chamber recently posted a blog entry showing local students touring the John Deere Waterloo Works Foundry and the Foundry 4.0 Center at the University of Northern Iowa. The tour group included 13 students from the Rock Island YWCA summer program and five adults, who received a hands-on glimpse of careers in casting, forging and advanced manufacturing.
Stacy Jones, a strategic partnership specialist with Goodwill of the Heartland, provided pre-tour training on workplace expectations and career readiness.
