Traffic patterns shift at Goodwill Store due to Moline road construction project

The City of Moline will begin reconstruction of 22nd Avenue between 48th and 53rd streets this week. The project, which includes removal of the existing roadway, will block Moline Goodwill Store parking lot entrances off of 22nd Avenue near the front of the store.

Shoppers, donors and those needing to access the on-site Helms Career Center should enter the Goodwill Store parking lot from the west (48th Street), which is near the store's donation drive-up area. Existing angled parking near the donation drive-up will be removed to allow better traffic flow within the parking lot.

All vehicles will exit the parking lot at the same point.

City officials expect to complete a portion of the Moline road construction project in late June or early July. It is unclear, however, if those partial improvements will allow the other parking lot entrances to be reopened. We encourage drivers to remain alert throughout the project.

Questions about the reconstruction project should be directed to the City of Moline.
