Our role is simple: We help people get and keep jobs.
We accomplish this by offering:
In addition to finding jobs, Goodwill helps individuals who face barriers to keep their jobs. Our Job Coaches provide supported employment in both one-on-one and group settings until each person feels comfortable and able to do the work alone.
We offer a variety of services to Youth to help prepare them for the world of work.
Youth Services is a partnership with area high schools that provides a transitional year to high school students, preparing them to enter the work force.
Youth Services staff work with students to help them obtain jobs that match their career goals and visions. Staff work with students in community settings to:
- Participate in job shadows and short-term job tryouts to help students refine their career plans.
- Participate in extended job internships and paid work experiences that enhance their resume and may lead to a job the student keeps.
- Receive job training and other supports.
- Obtain a job that matches their interests and goals.
Making the Grade
Working with selected High Schools and in partnership with Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation, this program helps youth learn about the world of work and find work opportunities.
