No matter the day, Goodwill helps eliminate waste

Looking for a way your family can participate in America Recycles Day (also known as National Recycling Day)? Take a look at your old electronics and bring what you no longer want to any Goodwill of the Heartland location.

Our donation attendants will help you unload working and non-working computers, laptops, mobile devices and peripherals.

Items we cannot repair, use as parts or otherwise resell are responsibly recycled through our partnership with Dell Reconnect. We use Department of Defense standards when wiping donated hard drives before they are resold as part of Reboot (located in our Cedar Rapids East Goodwill Store). Even so, please login to your Apple account and remove the device from your account before donation. Likewise, please make sure you have back-up copies of all sensitive data and valuable information before donating.

We accept any brand of electronics, in any condition - and all donations are tax deductible. Proceeds from the resell of this equipment is used to fund job training, day habilitation programs, veteran reintegration, supported community living, certification courses and more.

While we accept a large variety of consumer electronics, we do not accept empty inkjet cartridges or older CRT monitors with cracks or broken glass. Learn more: https://www.goodwillheartland.org/donate/computer-donations/

Last year alone, Goodwill of the Heartland kept 229,971 pounds of electronic waste out of area landfills.

Need to score some low-cost electronics? Browse what we have to offer through Reboot at the Cedar Rapids East Store or through our auctions on ShopGoodwill.com. If you are browsing in the store, don't forget to check the display case near the registers for smaller items and laptops.

No matter where you shop, 88 cents of every dollar you spend is reinvested in your neighbors and community.
