Goodwill SKILLS Program Day Habilitation Services is tailored to meet the needs of people who face barriers to independence.
SKILLS stands for Socialization, Knowledge, Integration, Leisure, Life Skills & Support – key elements of our programming.
Through our SKILLS Program, participants receive training in the following areas:
- Communication and socialization skills
- Community skills
- Cultural enrichment
- Health and wellness
- Living skills
- Recreation and leisure skills
- Work attitudes and behaviors
- Use of public transportation
Individuals receive training in one-on-one and group environments. Weekly individualized schedules of activities tailored to the persons preferences and interests. Training occurs both at sites in the community and at our SKILLS Day Habilitation Program facilities located in Burlington, Cedar Rapids, Clinton, Davenport and Iowa City.
