August 30th, 2019 – Training spaces remain in Goodwill of Heartland’s upcoming retail certification training session scheduled for September 23rd through November 4th in Davenport.

Goodwill launched the certification program in 2016 to prepare workers for employment in all aspects of retail. The seven-week program is open to the public and no fees are required.

The course includes 10 hours a week of classroom training utilizing curriculum from the National Retail Foundation. Classroom training takes place at the Quad Cities Goodwill center. The program also includes 90 hours of paid work experience. The work experience takes place at multiple Goodwill locations in the Quad Cities area. By the conclusion of the program, students will be prepared to take the National Retail Foundation Customer Service and Sales Certification Test.

The last week of the session is devoted to helping people learn the skills needed to obtain and maintain employment. Participants can apply for positions at a Goodwill store or other area retailers. For further information, contact Robert Gonzales at 563-484-3718.
