Three Honored for Life-Changing  Decisions, Accomplishments

Goodwill recognizes individuals for steps toward greater independence


Iowa City, IOWA — June 10, 2011 — Goodwill of the Heartland honored three Muscatine area men for their achievement of personal goals as they worked toward greater independence in 2010.

Tony Ramsdell of Muscatine was recognized with a 2010 Achievement Award for his willingness to try new work roles while he worked through health issues and improved his work attendance.

Steve Blake of Muscatine received a 2010 Achievement Award after making major improvements in attendance and work habits while balancing his role as a caretaker of an elderly relative.

Jim Truitt of Muscatine was named the 2011 Townsend Client Graduate of the Year for having achieved independence. Truitt works at Menards in Muscatine. The award is named for Mike Townsend, a retired long-time vice president of client services at Goodwill of the Heartland.
