Goodwill of the Heartland Announces New Board Member

New Goodwill of the Heartland Board MemberIowa City, IOWA — August 26, 2011 — Goodwill of the Heartland named Paul Rumler of Coal Valley, IL as a member of its board of directors. Rumler is the Executive Vice President of the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce.

In his role at the Chamber, Rumler has led many community and economic development initiatives to grow the region’s economy. He currently is Executive Director for the Quad Cities Passenger Rail Coalition, a group working to re-establish passenger rail service to the Quad Cities.

Rumler earned a B.A. in economics and political science from Georgia State University. Prior to the Chamber, Rumler worked for various members of Congress, including U.S. House Minority Leader Steny Hoyer.

“Paul brings to Goodwill a passion for community service,” said Jeff Nock, president and CEO of Goodwill of the Heartland. “Paul’s background in government and economic development will help Goodwill to meet the challenges within our service areas.”

The board of directors provides policy-making leadership and strategic direction to the organization, which serves 16 counties in southeast Iowa and three counties in western Illinois. Rumler will serve on the board for three years with the ability to serve for two additional three-year terms.
