Goodwill of the Heartland Announces New Board Member
Iowa City, IOWA - August 26, 2011 — Goodwill® of the Heartland named Tom Werderitsch of Iowa City as a member of its board of directors.
Werderitsch is the President/ CEO of Selzer Werderitsch Associates (SWA) of Iowa City and joined the board in June.
Werderitsch has worked in the commercial/industrial construction field for the past 45 years and is a graduate of Iowa State University with a degree in construction engineering. Werderitsch’s firm specializes in commercial, institutional and industrial construction.
An active member and past chair of the Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce, Werderitsch was a founding member of the Johnson County Community Foundation, an 11-year member of the Shelter House Board of Directors, and is a long-time member of state and national builders’ associations and Rotary International. In June, Werderitsch was presented the Governor's Volunteer Award from Governor Brandstad for his work on behalf of Shelter House.
“Tom brings to Goodwill a passion for community service, and his knowledge of commercial real estate and construction will be invaluable to Goodwill as we expand our operations to meet the needs of our communities,” said Jeff Nock, president and CEO of Goodwill of the Heartland.
“The board of directors provides policy-making leadership and strategic direction to the organization, which serves 16 counties in southeast Iowa and three counties in western Illinois. Werderitsch will serve on the board for three years with the ability to serve for two additional three-year terms.
