| Amy Rasmussen named manager of new Burlington Goodwill |
Iowa City, IOWA — September 15, 2011 — Amy Rasmussen of Mt. Pleasant has been named the manager of the new Burlington Goodwill Store which will hold its Grand Opening September 30.
Rasmussen has several years of Goodwill retail experience. She gained her initial experience in the Clinton Goodwill Store, and then gained additional experience as an assistant manager in helping to open a new Goodwill Store in Fairfield earlier this year. She was promoted as the manager of the Burlington Store mid-summer.
With a high level of energy and vision, Rasmussen said she plans to create a dynamic store environment that speaks to younger shoppers while at the same time still meeting the expectations of traditional Goodwill Store customers.
"Amy’s spirit and passion for the Goodwill shopping experience and the mission will resonate through the store,” said Shawn Brewer, Regional Manager for Goodwill. “Through her 16 new staff hires for the store, Amy has been building a team that will focus on offering a rich customer experience.”
“Amy believes that shopping at the Goodwill Store should be fun for those who come through the store doors, and she is motivated to exceed customer expectations,” Brewer said.
Revenues from Goodwill retail sales and recycling efforts provide funding for programs and services, including job skills training, on-the-job support, independent living support, social and recreational opportunities, work experience, and transition training for high school students.
