The Brooks and Edna Booker Memorial Fund is an Emergency Fund used to assist people that have unforeseen emergencies. These funds could make the difference in them working, being safe, or moving into an apartment, or paying for childcare.
Take Jamie for example. Jamie had no money for a deposit to move into her apartment, so she applied for assistance through the Booker Fund. For Jamie, there were no other options that would help with a deposit. Without the assistance, Jamie probably would have been homeless, or she would have had to live in a more restrictive environment that would have limited her independence. Jamie is working and now has her own apartment.
Roger and Brenda utilized the Booker Fund when they found themselves in need of a tow truck to tow a vehicle when they had no money or resources. The Brooks and Edna Booker Memorial Fund also assisted them with a portion of payment towards a hotel stay so that they could have a place to live between apartment leases. Through the utilization of the Booker Fund, we were able to get the assistance needed to get Roger and Brenda back on their feet.
With help from our community, we can replenish the Brooks and Edna Booker Memorial Fund through your generous donations.
